About Us

Pacific Tide finds the right sauna for your property. Based in Vancouver, serving British Columbia, with a focus on saunas built in Canada from BC western red cedar.

There are a lot of backyard saunas on the market, and most of them are wrong for most properties. A barrel that suits a forested acreage is the wrong call for a narrow city lot. A heater sized for a six-person room will never settle properly in a two-person cube. Getting this right is most of the job, and it is the part we care about.

Whether you want an outdoor sauna at the end of the garden or a home sauna built into a room you already have, we do not push one model. We carry a range, we know what each one is good at, and we spend the time working out which of them belongs in your space.

What we do

We start with your site rather than a catalogue. Where it will sit, what the ground is like, what your panel can carry, how many people will use it, and whether you want to be looking at a view or at a fire. From there the field usually narrows to two or three sensible options, and we will tell you plainly what each one gives up.

Then we handle the rest: delivery, installation, and the questions that come up afterward.

Canadian-made, BC cedar

Our focus is on saunas built in Canada, using western red cedar from British Columbia. That is not a marketing line about supporting local, though we do. It is that the coast asks a lot of anything left outside all year, and BC cedar handles rain, salt air, and real cold better than most of what gets shipped here from overseas.

The same thinking runs through the heaters and controls we fit. Proven Finnish and Estonian equipment, sized to the room, rather than whatever is cheapest to source.

How we work

Straight answers

We would rather tell you something inconvenient early than have it surprise you later.

The heaters we fit are independently certified. The Homecraft Revive is ETL-certified to CSA and UL standards, and the HUUM units carry their own certification.

The room itself is assembled on your property and wired there by a licensed electrician. Site preparation should be done by a qualified professional, and permit and inspection requirements vary between municipalities, so confirm what applies at your address before you order.

If you choose a wood-burning stove, your insurer will most likely want a WETT inspection once it is installed.

Based in Vancouver

We are based in Vancouver and install across the Lower Mainland, the North Shore, the Sea to Sky corridor through Squamish and Whistler, Vancouver Island including Victoria, and the Gulf Islands. We are on the coast, and we install here. That means we have seen how these builds hold up through a few BC winters rather than guessing from a spec sheet, and it means someone can come and look at your yard rather than asking you to measure it yourself.

We deliver and install across British Columbia and ship Canada-wide.
